When you have an online store you definitely want to wake up in the morning, checking your emails (while you are in bed) and finding a few sales. At least that is how I did it when Digidesignresort was a blooming digital scrapbooking store. And yes, although I got commission from all the other designers on the site I wanted to figure if my products had sold - you know, just because for me it was a sign that I was doing a good job designing my digital scrapbooking kits.
And even those days we had bundles. We had the "normal" digital scrapbooking kit and then we added clusters, alphas, quick pages and whatever could be helpful for our customer to make them buy the bundle and not the single product. It's a valid strategy to increase sales but you can even go a step further... you can create a growing bundle!

What is a Growing Bundle, and Why Should You Create One?
A Growing Bundle is a discounted, evolving product that starts with a few resources and grows over time. Buyers purchase it at a lower price, knowing they’ll receive future updates for free.
This strategy boosts your sales early on, encourages repeat visits, and builds customer trust. As you add more resources, the price increases, but early buyers get all updates at no extra cost. So there is a huge intent to buy the bundle when it is still small. I also have bought a few growing bundles on TpT and I'm eagerly waiting for updates!
Why Growing Bundles Work on TPT
Let's have a look why growing bundles are a great strategy you can follow on TpT - but also in your own store, this does not only work on TpT. The only thing is that you need to build trust with your customers first before they give you their hard earned money without getting anything right away. They might think that you won't ever update the bundle and they paid a lot more for maybe just one or two resources. Therefore you definitely need their trust.
Why this works:
- Attracts early buyers – Mums, Teachers and literally speaking anyone love getting a deal!
- Generates recurring engagement – Buyers keep coming back for updates.
- Provides steady income – You earn while still developing the bundle.
- Boosts your TPT rankings – More sales and reviews help visibility.
Step 1: Decide on Your Growing Bundle Theme
Your bundle should be niche-specific and cohesive so buyers see its value. It should also be something you can expand over time without running out of ideas. So bevor you start your growing bundle you definitely should plan it out and decide when you add what.
Examples of Strong Growing Bundles:
- Monthly Themes: A yearlong Kindergarten Math Centers Bundle that adds seasonal resources each month - that's perfect for the teacher or homeschooling mum - they never run out of ideas this way.
- Skills Progression: A Phonics Word Work Bundle that starts with CVC words and expands to blends, digraphs, and multisyllabic words.
- Seasonal or Holiday Resources: A Seasonal Writing Prompts Bundle that adds new prompts for every major holiday.
- Grade-Level Curricula: A Second Grade Literacy Bundle that grows with new reading comprehension passages.
Tip: Choose a bundle that naturally expands over time and aligns with your audience’s needs.
Step 2: Create the Initial Bundle with a Few Resources
A Growing Bundle must start with a strong foundation, even if it’s incomplete. The key is to give buyers enough value from the start to make it worth the early purchase.
- Start with at least 3–5 quality resources
- List the upcoming additions in the description
- Showcase a clear roadmap so buyers know what’s coming (and also when!)
- Price it lower than the final value to reward early buyers
Example: If your final bundle will include 20 math worksheets, start with 5 worksheets and promise to add more each month on a specific date.

Step 3: Set an Attractive Initial Price
Pricing a Growing Bundle strategically is key. Since buyers get additional resources later at no extra cost, the price should increase gradually as more content is added.
Pricing Strategy for Growing Bundles
- Launch Price: 30-40% of the final bundle price
- Increase Price Every Time You Add New Resources
- Final Price: Equivalent to the combined value of all included resources (still discounted though as it's a bundle)
Example:
- If the final value of your bundle is $25, start at $10.
- When you add more resources, raise it to $15, then $20, until it reaches $25.
Bonus Tip: Let buyers know the next price increase is coming—this creates urgency and boosts sales!
Step 4: Clearly Communicate Updates and Future Additions
Since a Growing Bundle is a work in progress, clear communication is crucial. Buyers need to trust that you will continue adding value.
- Include a “What’s Coming” Section – List upcoming resources and give release dates.
- Regularly Update the Description – Each time you add a new resource, update the listing.
- Use a Preview Image with a “Coming Soon” Section – A visual roadmap keeps buyers engaged.
- Send TPT Buyer Updates – Notify customers when you add new resources (this increases repeat visits and reviews!) and helps buyers to not forget their purchase.
Example Description Update:
This bundle currently includes 5 phonics worksheets, but it will soon include 15! Buy now before the price increases!
Step 5: Promote Your Growing Bundle Effectively
A Growing Bundle is only effective if buyers know about it! Use multiple marketing channels to drive traffic and excitement.
Best Places to Promote Your Growing Bundle
- TPT Store Banner & Featured Section – Highlight your bundle on your storefront.
- Pinterest Marketing – Create multiple pins showcasing the growing value. Add new images to Pinterest any time you add something to your bundle.
- Instagram Stories & Reels – Show a time-lapse of you creating a new resource for the bundle.
- TPT Buyer Updates & Emails – Announce every new addition and price increase.
- Your Website Blog – Write a post explaining the bundle and its benefits.
- You can even write multiple blog posts and show the newest additions and also what you can do with them.

Step 6: Keep Your Buyers Engaged with Updates
Your early buyers are invested in your bundle. Keep them excited and engaged by providing regular updates and incentives.
- Announce new additions – Send a TPT Buyer Update whenever you add resources. This does not just inform your buyers but also encourages others to buy in!
- Encourage feedback – Ask buyers what they’d love to see in the bundle.
- Offer limited-time bonuses – Reward early buyers with an exclusive extra resource.
- Host a giveaway – Encourage customers to share reviews for a chance to win a future resource for free.
The more engaged your audience, the more likely they are to leave reviews and recommend your bundle to others!
Step 7: Finalise the Bundle and Convert It to a Standard Bundle
Once your bundle reaches its final version, you can officially complete it and convert it to a standard bundle.
- Update the listing to remove “growing” from the title.
- Set the final price based on the total value of the included resources.
- Send a final TPT Buyer Update to let buyers know it’s complete.
- Offer a limited-time discount to encourage last-minute purchases before the price is locked in.
Bonus Tip: After completing a Growing Bundle, create a NEW growing bundle to keep your store fresh and continue attracting repeat buyers!
Why Growing Bundles Are a Game-Changer for TPT Sellers (and not just TpT Stores!)
Growing Bundles are a powerful way to build momentum, attract early buyers, and generate steady income while still creating resources. By strategically pricing, promoting, and updating your bundle, you can increase sales, engagement, and customer loyalty over time.
- Start small, but plan big.
- Communicate updates clearly.
- Raise the price gradually.
- Keep your audience engaged.
