Have you noticed that Christmas is always just around the corner? And so is creating Christmas Printable for the holidays! I usually start thinking about Christmas Printable at the end of August. I slowly start to create a plan what should be published these holidays and then I - again slowly - start creating. Why slowly? Well, I'm also not in holidays mood! When I start thinking about Christmas it's usually pretty warm outside and often I even do it outside in the garden 🙂
But then, you'll thank yourself for doing that latest in November when you notice that the holidays are really just around the corner and that you need to start creating Christmas Printable if you want them to rank well and start selling.
So better we start early, don't you think?

Resources you need for your Christmas Printables

It's not as hard as you might think. It doesn't really matter if you create teaching resources, party printables or wall art you always need cute graphics and some fonts to make a beautiful printable. I started out buying all that on sites like Creativemarket and Designcuts. Yes, it's well worth it but it can also get pretty pricy - and you don't know if your printable sells so it might be a waist of money. I like to use a variety of fonts and graphics in my products and therefore I might need the one set or other.
But wait - it just got easier!
You no longer need to search on these sites (except you want to purchase there from a specific designer) but you can go to Creativefabrica*. Whatever you need it's most probably already there. I've put together some really cute graphic sets for you for the holidays as well as some fonts you can use. The best thing is: You purchase a super-low-cost subscription and you download from their millions of graphic sets as much as you want. And: You can use it commercially for as long as you are a member. Once you are no member anymore you can still sell the printables you have created. You are just not allowed to make new products from the graphic sets. That's fair, isn't it?

Watercolor Graphic Sets for Christmas Printable

Here are some of my favorite graphic sets. I use them to create tags, then also patterns for gift wrapping paper as well as teaching material.

Click on the image to get to have a look at the graphic set!

They are from different artists but they have a similar style so I thought this might be something you can mix and match together. Imagine some teaching material about Christmas traditions and adding the lovely Christmas tree to your worksheet? Or maybe you want to start your lesson with a story of you and your family getting a Christmas tree together, because that's your family tradition? Then the little car in the top left might be perfect!
But these three sets are also pretty nice to create some patterns and mix them with textures so you have gift wrapping paper and then some matching tags. You see - that is not just for teaching material and not just for party printables, it works for all kind of printables. And, sure, you can sell the printables in digital as well as in printed format!

And, let me show you one more package you'll love for your Christmas printable! Isn't that alphabet cute? I can "see" (actually in front of my inner eye) how I can use that on some teaching resources. And yes, that's also included in your subscription.
I guess the hardest thing here is to find the resources you can use not the lack of resources - the site has millions of downloads!

Now it's time to let your imagination fly! Here is what I combine my findings with.

Create some Christmas Gift Wrapping Papers

Create some textures with patterns to make your own gift wrapping paper. You get some textures, you create a pattern in Affinity Designer and then you go ahead and blend both together. When you print your patterns or have them printed you have great and unique gift wrapping paper. The best thing is: You can also create some matching tags!
Here are some textures I like for this:

Needless to tell you that there is more where these are coming from, or? Just click on the images and find the texture bundles.

And how about fonts?

Nope, teaching material is not the only thing you can create. How about your own Christmas Cards? Maybe you give them to your students in the classroom as a little Christmas gift together with some self-made cookies. Maybe you sell them as a printable or you put some super nice Christmas Quotes on a mug and give it as a Christmas gift? That's all up to you but there are some suggestions!

Yepp, the bundle is also included in your subscription...

I don't want to tell you that you can only use graphics from Creativefabrica. And although I really love the site because it gives me all the material I need for a fraction of the costs I'm a big believer that you should look around to find the graphics that speak to you. As a graphic designer we usually do not create graphics ourselves but we use what is already there and make the product our own. And therefore we have a huge amount of stuff on our finger tips.

Do you need anything else to create Christmas Printables?

Let's see: First, of course, you need an idea what you can create. Then you need the skill to create what you imagine. And then you need the graphics as well as a place to sell your printables.

Yes, that's it. It's not so hard, don't you think?

Here are my solutions:

How to find Ideas for Christmas Printables

Go here you find the "Seasonal Printable Planner" (for free). Inside are all major holidays, celebrations and special days through the year. My idea is, that, when you read it, ideas will come to your mind. Beside that I've also added a list with lots of Printable Product ideas inside! So mix and match 🙂

Beside that you can also go to Etsy and search for Christmas Printable and see what comes up there. Make notes, then do keyword research (you need to know how much competition and how much search volume is there) and then you can start designing if you have the skill to use a graphic design program...

Learn a Graphic Design Program

I know most sites will tell you to (a) learn Canva and then (b) use Canva - for all and everything. Really, I won't. I think it's a nice program when you design some pins for Pinterest or a post for Instagram. I also like it for a quick ebook of some pages. But really: I don't like it as a real graphic design program. It's hard to line things up. It's hard to get to the specific layers and that's not because it is bad but it's just not meant for this.
Therefore I highly (and I really mean highly) recommend Affinity Designer. This program has all the tools you need to design printables. And the best thing ever: It has no subscription. Another good reason not to use Canva or Adobe Illustrator (which is a great program!) because you do not need to pay monthly.
If you have never heard of Affinity Designer go to the Serif website and have a look and maybe download a free trial (if that's still available).
The program has a learning curve but I got you covered 😀
