Everyone else is excited to travel to the beach if not just because of this global pandemic. But don't you worry because you can still feel the ocean breeze with these seashells for your bullet journal.
In this tutorial, we are going to decorate your bullet journal with lovely seashells. These will brighten up your day every time you open your weekly overview.
In this tutorial, you only need a few materials - and some drawing skills.
You can add whatever month you want to use the spread in into the top left corner - together with a monthly overview, it can look like this one...
... or completely different! That's the beauty of Bullet Journaling - you adapt everything to your needs.
How to Create a Weekly Overview with Seashells for Your Bullet Journal
Customizing your weekly overview is so easy. Here is an overview of what you'll learn in the video. Just click on the links and you jump directly to that exact point in the video. I show you step by step how to draw these lovely seashells for your bullet journal. However, you can of course draw and colour the seashells the way you want.
Mark the Spread
First, make sure to mark your spread correctly so that all your boxes will have the same sizes. We are going to draw a total of seven boxes. Three on the first page and four on the second page.
Draw the Boxes with Seashells
After marking your spread, you can now draw your boxes with seashells. Draw the seashell first before you draw the box. This simple trick will make your seashell as if it is in front of the box.
Draw a Circle on Top of the Box
On the top line of the box, draw a small circle at the center before you close it. Then use your Tombow dual brush pen to fill in with colour black.
Draw the Other Boxes with Seashells
Do the same with the other boxes. You draw the seashell first before the box. You can draw a variety of seashells that makes you happy.
Make the Calendar Month
After you finish all the seven boxes, you can now create the calendar month you want to use for your spread. You can use your fineliner, or you can also use a calendar stamp set to make it look neat.
Write the Days of the Week in the Circles
Use your white Sharpie to write the numbers in the circles. Next, write the days of the week just below them using your fineliner.
Colour the Seashells
Now it's time to colour your seashells. Always start with the lighter shade. Here, I use a Tombow Dual Brush Pen 873. Do not colour the entire shell. Just a little bit of shades.
Then, use a darker shade of dual brush pen to set your first layers. Here, I use the Tombow Dual Brush Pen 743.
That's it! You're done with your beautiful weekly overview for a month.
