Printing the Door Hangers and the "Wonderland" Decorations
To create your easy paper craft, you first need to print the door hangers and the Wonderland PDFs. Be sure to use hard and stiff printing papers (like the Canson Watercolor Paper*) and set the printer to high quality (for fantastic quality I use the Epson ET-7750, but the Epson ET-7700* is as good as its big brother, just in A4).
Preparing the other Materials
You also need a scissor to cut the printout papers and some glue stick to attach the decorations into the hangers. Now that you have gathered all the materials needed, let’s get started!
Cutting the Door Hangers
First, cut out the door hangers roughly. Then, carefully cut along the edges nicely. Here, I just follow the shape of the hanger. It is easy, isn’t it?
Cutting out the White Circle from the Door Hangers
Of course, you need to cut out the white circle from the printout. What you need to do is to make a slanting cut from the side straightly to the white circle, as shown in the image below. From there, you can now cut out the whole circle. Just make sure to make the cut in the part where you hang it on your door. After that, you now have your door hanger. All you need to do next is to decorate it.
Decorating the Door Hangers
Once I have cut the door hangers, I have to decorate them to make them more appealing. Decorating the door hangers is easy as ABC. First, I cut the Wonderland printout roughly.
Choosing the Stickers for the Door Hangers
Decide what decorations you want to use for your door hangers. Make sure you have enough for both. I think two decorations are enough for each, don’t over decorate them. Go on, pick you favorite stickers!
Cutting the first Sticker
Next, I cut out the decorations just like a sticker. It means that it should have a white stroke around it. There are many details with this decoration so I cut it roughly and it looks good. It is also much easier to cut it that way, especially when doing this paper craft with the kids
Putting glue to the First Sticker
After cutting out the sticker, I put some glue on the back of it using a glue stick. I just add a little bit of glue on half of the sticker.
Attaching the First Sticker to the Door Hangers
After adding some glue on the back of the sticker, I attach it to the door hanger. Attaching just a half of it is a great idea. It gives your door hanger a unique style!
Cutting the Second Sticker
I cut out the second piece of sticker the same way as I did with the first one. I also leave a white stroke around it.
Writing “Do Not Disturb!” to the Door Hangers
Before I glue the second sticker into the door hanger, I use a brush pen to write “Do Not Disturb!” on my door hanger. Of course, you can write whatever you want on your door hangers.
Attaching the Second Sticker to the Door Hangers
Now, after writing on my door hanger, I know where to place the second sticker. I place the sticker where it won’t cover the writings. I glue half of it, the same way as I did with the first sticker.
We are done!
That's it! You've created your easy door hangers. You can of course print the same PDFs numerous times and create more for your family and friends. This is also a great idea to keep the kids busy at home. Let them do their own door hangers with this Wonderland elements and papers.
